Builders Merchant Show & Internal Conference
The Project
This was the 10th time Jewson have gathered all their internal audience together for their National Conference and Exhibition. This was, however, their first year delivering the event at the NEC, Birmingham instead of the Harrogate International Centre. The decision to move the event was taken because the event had outgrown the existing space, and for the first time they wanted to add a customer trade day on to the event and being more centrally located would increase accessibility and footfall for doing this. The event had a 2-day build, 3 days live and 1 day breakdown and took over 2 Halls at the NEC.
The Result
93% of suppliers rated the event as very good or excellent.
90% of internal employees rated the event as very good or excellent.
For the client the event ROI was measured based on attendance figures at the customer event, sales generated through the trading aspect and also the supplier feedback (the suppliers fund the event). 93% of suppliers rated the event as very good or excellent with a similar score for the venue. This was approximately a 10% increase on previous years scores. 90% of internal employees rated the event as very good or excellent which was a 5% increase on 2014. A&I bench-marked all feedback scoring against 2015 and saw a significant increase across all areas of the feedback. The change in venue, structure of the day and efficient team management all contributed to a more successful client event.
