1. Copenhagen, Denmark.
According to the World Happiness Report, Denmark is up there, and has been in the top 3 for the past several years, so if that in itself doesn't tell you that you should visit then maybe this will! Copenhagen is a vibrant, urban capital which is brimming with culture. From market stalls and Michelin star restaurants authentic food will surround you, and you won't be disappointed! This may be up North, but it has great white sandy beaches too, which are still admirable on a winters stroll. If you're looking for history then here you'll find fortresses, castles and Viking villages! Another plus side is the cleanliness, the harbour is so clean you can swim in it – Will you take the plunge?
2. Albania
This Gem is supposed to become as popular as Croatia did in 2018. Beat the hype and visit before it becomes full of tourism. One thing that really attract people to Albania is the Albanian Alps, if you're an avid hiker or just enjoy a good view then these are perfect for you! Their peaks are breath-taking and paths up the mountain are marked so you're not likely to get lost. If hiking isn't your thing then there are some amazing beaches to relax on. Along the Riviera, it's full of coves, so you could essentially have your own private beach, the water is exceptionally clean and reflects a wonderful turquoise colour.
3. Les Gets, France
If you'd prefer to swap sand for snow, then visit Les Gets for one of the world's largest ski areas. Whether you're a champion on the slopes or are just starting out, it's suited to you! There's the 650km Les Portes du Soleil ski area if you really want to show off! Don't worry about being cold all the time though – there's plenty of cosy bars and restaurants. You won't be limited on accommodation either, there is a tailor made holiday service so you can choose exactly what you want from cheap and cheerful to the highest luxury.
4. Budapest, Hungary
Budapest is the capital city of Hungary, but what most people don't know is that Budapest is made up from 3 unified cities, Buda, Óbuda and Danube. The city is brimming with history and gothic architecture. From the Hungarian Parliament Building to the Gellert thermal Baths. The Danube Promenade is a great way to see the best landmarks, you will also see the Shoes on the Danube which a statute is dedicated to the victims of World War II. The night life is also pretty great, and full of roof-top bars. You won't be disappointed!
5. Alberta, Canada
Whatever time of year you visit, it will be jaw dropping. From the Canadian Rockies to Lake Louise, you'll feel at ease when breathing in the fresh air. There's so much to do and see here, you'll never be bored! There's kayaking, canoeing, hiking or even climbing the mountains by horseback, after a day of adventure you can indulge in Banff's hot spring. To get to the springs you can either trek there yourself or take part in a lantern tour of the caves and springs. Skiing is also widely popular here, and Calgary, Alberta was home to the 1988 Winter Olympics and you can still visit the park for a fun day out.
